Phindy's Place #52 Helping In the Garden

IT'S A BLOG HOP!
Phindy's Place theme - paper piecing

This is a special week here in Phindyville as we are celebrating one whole year of challenges & you have THREE chances to win: the blog hop, the random winner of the challenge and the pick of the week. So what are you waiting for? I hope you will join us if you haven't done so already! If you have arrived at my blog from Cec, you are on the right path - if not, and you would love to join in, head to the start - Phindy's Place Challenge Blog. :)

Now, I had better tell you a little about my DT card for today then. I have chosen to use Phindy's image of  'For You', a young girl who could either be weeding or re-planting, but either way she obviously reckons she is a BIG help in the garden, showing off her flower. LOL.

Following the sketch over at CLP this month, I gave her a layered effect of sky (the image has sky, so does the mat behind it not to mention the one on the main dp). I was hoping to get across the feeling that her image was a photo, a moment in time captured from the scene around her. The image itself was coloured with Promarkers and I gave her a paper-pieced outfit - the blouse, dungarees and shoes. The main dp is from a cd by Create & Craft and I picked out the colours of those flowers to create my own from various small punches to decorate around the fence. This was created with a Martha Stewart punch which I am sure all of you will recognise and I then dotted some tiny flowers onto the image itself as well as the grass (two strips of green card punched from another MS punch). To finish off the card I added several card clouds cut free hand firstly from textured cardstock for the top layer (just looked like puffy clouds to me!!! LOL) and then for added depth, cut more clouds this time from plain card which I layered behind the textured ones and then mounted them onto the card using foam pads.

Right, of course I would love it if you could leave me a comment as you go along, :) as would all the great gals on the DT, but it is not compulsory, just nice. LOL. The next thing you all need to know is the word you are collecting from my blog & that is 'digis'. Next stop on the blog hop is to the talented Dorcas but if you get lost, just browse back to the Challenge blog for the full list order.

Tine :)
