Hi all, and I am soo pleased that the good folk over at the Kenny K challenge blog asked me to be GDT this week. Thrilled!...and the theme they are using this time around is 'Spring'.
I chose to use this happy young gal, a digi called 'Queen's Cutie' and I have her sat in a sunny, floral arbour, a gazebo I created using a Martha Stewart punch. I coloured her with Promarkers sat her on a bench in front of the white fence and then created a second fence which I cut down a little to narrow it before slicing it through to bend it over to form the archway.
The simply gorgeous paper towards the bottom of the card is from Bearly Mine and I printed more of it off to create the flowers running over the trellis-work & also to decoupage a few of the flowers on the paper at her feet. I then cut out some of the leaves from the extra paper and mounted them on the card at angles using Pinflair glue for dimension. More flowers were added from punching with a Woodware punch with centre circles which were residue from a Fiskars punch design and I popped on tiny leaves which were also the cut out bits from a Fiskar's border punch. For the swirling tendrils (which allowed the flowers to grow up the trellis), I coloured paper using my Promarkers and then punched out using an X-cut punch, only using the part of the design I needed. I then 'doodled' myself something akin to peachy coloured delphiniums with my Promarkers (I know delphiniums are shades of blue but I wanted peach ones today!), gave them a hint of sky around them & cut them out to layer behind the top of the fence - et voila.
The inside of the card |
I also decorated the inside of the card the same way as the front, but created a pocket where the garden is at the lower half of the card. I created a tag to go into the pocket which is in 2 layers, sandwiching the de-constructed fence around to echo the 'gazebo' on the front. The sentiment is from Sentiments4You and I added more flowers to the centre of it as a bouquet. The tag therefore also acts as a 'To' & 'From' which can be written by hand for a more personal touch.
I would like to thank the Krafty Girlz over at Kenny K for have me play along with them this week & I hope you all like the resulting card!
Tine :)
