Personalised Car

A design for a male card this time & it did take me some time to perfect the outlines so I would get the results I wanted.

Having created my car cut-files I cut a whole 'car' out of black card (featuring narrow embossed lines which reminded me of tyre treads as seen at a distance -and it is just about showing up on the photo above if you look at the tyres). This was the base.  Once cut, I used the reverse of this car as the backing to attach the car 'frame' which was also cut from the same embossed black card. To explain this more simply, if you can see 'black' on the card front it is part of the frame with the exception of the tyres which are pieced inside their frame. ( I do hope I am explaining this well enough for none Silhouette users!)  The front was then entirely paper-pieced using card (using a plethora of individual cut-files) into my skeletal car framework in colours matching the recipient's vehicle. As you can see, I personalised the car even more with birthday greeting & name too.

Verse inside the card - on yet another cut-file!
Using the reverse of my textured card stock as the base-layer meant that the embossing 'tread' could be seen on the inside of the card when opened.  I also added an appropriately car-themed sentiment to a more stark inside than I often have but I reckon it is appropriate in this instance - with the birthday verse printed onto yet another cut-file - a pared down version of my car so that there were no wing-mirrors sticking out etc.

Of course, obsessive crafter (cut-file maker!!)  that I am, I have several other versions of my car too - and you never know, I might actually get around to using those versions as some point. LOL.

Have a great week everyone.

Tine :)
