I found this a great design sketch given by the ‘ilovepromarkers’ team to work to. The main image of the Cool Cat in the Shades is a brilliant digital stamp created by Tim Hunter for Hambo Stamps and is perfect for the theme of this week’s challenge on ‘everybody-art-challenge’ , that of ‘Song Title’. (Cool for Cats was by Squeeze, if you are not as old as me and don’t know. LOL).
Once I had decided on the main picture I wanted to feature, I set about creating my own background paper to echo the colours I wanted to use in the design as I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for in my stash. I was aiming to give the feeling of a calm sky and sea which wouldn’t dominate the page (well, that was the idea!) From there I coloured the 4 squares to match and drew the 3 fish bones with my Letraset fine line pen (0.5 width) and gave them a just a touch of blue Promarker too to indicate the sea & sky’s reflections.

The cat was then made into a ginger and white feline with my Promarkers and then added a bit of a sun burned nose to finish him off. I kept the colours of the inflatable and sunshoes etc., relatively simple to go for the uber chilled feel . This cat doesn’t need to try too hard! The sun & sentiment within it were made on the PC and added to the card with silicone glue.
