Phindy’s #42 - Spring Blossom
Our theme this week at Phindy's Place is Spring and we would like you all to join us in looking forward to warmer, sunnier days with your cards or projects. You don't need to use one of Phindy's images to play along, but if you do, you can enter the card twice to double your chances of winning.
The image I have chosen to illustrate Spring is 'Spring Dress Kulla' and I have put Kulla dancing in the falling blossom without a care in the world. Isn't it a such a shame that the blossom doesn't remain on the trees that bit longer - here and gone in a week or so yet ever so pretty whilst it lasts. I coloured the image with Promarkers, even on top of her paper-pieced dress hoping to get a light & airy feel to the material. The bouquet consists of a hand-made flower which was cut from pale pink cardstock and coloured over in a few places with a toning Promarker. The other flowers were in my stash but echo the simplistic shapes of my breeze-borne blossom (actually remnants of a Fiskar's circular punch pattern but are perfect tiny flowers!). The punched leaves are the Martha Stewart frond leaf and the sentiment is from Rainbow Echo.
I thought this card would be just perfect for a very good friend of 20 years now, whose birthday is coming up next week.
Tine :)

Beautiful card, Tine! I too used to love the spring blossom when we lived in London. All the cherry trees alongside the roads.
ReplyDeleteHere we have dogwoods, azaleas and crepe myrtles and they're very beautiful and last a bit longer than cherries. My fave time of year, when everything is new and promising. :-)
What a good idea to use the "leavings" from the punch to make blossom. Your colouring is just gorgeous and I LOVE this card. Hope Spring hurries up!
