#52 Happy Birthday! - It's a Blog Hop!

B l o g     H o p ! ! !

Yes, you read this correctly. Here at I ♥ Promarkers this week we are having our very first Blog Hop to celebrate the one year Karen has been running the blog.  We hope that you will join in with our celebration by not only completing the Hop but by making a birthday themed card - as the Hop will also be our weekly challenge.

We have got some great prizes from Letraset and Whiff of Joy for the lucky winner and all the members of the DT have a little prize for a winner selected from those leaving a comment on their individual blogs. The Blog Hop will end at 6pm on Tuesday, 15th February, and the winners will be listed on Wednesday, 16th February along with the theme of our next challenge.

Prizes from Letraset.....
...and from Whiff of Joy.

The Blog Hopping order is as follows:

Tine  (that’s me !!!)
Then go back to I ♥ ProMarkers and leave a picture of your project with Mr Linky.

So then, if you have arrived here from Ruth's blog you are on the right track but if you have just browsed to my blog from elsewhere & have a few Promarkers you could use on a project, then why not start at the beginning of the Hop now - and I will see you back here in a few minutes! LOL.

Here is the prize from my blog.

I had better let you see more of the card you are commenting on then! LOL.

The card shape itself is constructed from  A4 cardstock though I added reinforcement panels at each side (viewable from the angled photos), to restrain the card from collapsing down as V-fold cards tend to want to do.

This card is a special one, not just because it is for our challenge blog's birthday at I ♥ Promarkers but because it if for my daughter.  I chose to use the image, ‘Penelope’s Party Wagon’, by Mo Manning & coloured it of course, with Promarkers.  The little girl is not the only image though and the square present beneath the balloons (and the large one at the back, which coincidently is paper-pieced), are from Digi Doodle and the balloons, opened present and those angled prezzies peeking out behind are from Arthur’s Clipart. There are a couple of presents that I drew myself too on that back panel behind the image.  They can really only be seen when not looking directly from the front however.  I was going to post a photo of the pile of presents too, but thought my post was getting long enough without it. LOL.

The birthday banner is 'strung' up using coloured wire attached to the brads as well as being secured to the back of the layered mats.  A brad also secures the front sentiment (from birdscards.com), masquerading as a picture on the wall, for which I made a picture frame - and although it doesn't show up on the photo, there is acetate in front of it for the 'glass'.  One of the balloons is decoupaged for yet more dimension and there is more of that coloured wire, this time taking place of the balloons strings.

I have also covered the back of the card in a similar fashion to the front and added a further sentiment this time from TLC.

Hope you like it!!!!!

Challenges I would like to enter my card into:
Paper Sundaes - use 2 or more images ( I actually have 9! LOL)
One Stitch At A Time - use a digi (7 digi images, 2 digi sentiments - the other 2 presents were hand drawn with a fineliner)
Paperplay - stamp it out (digi or stamp)
Stamp Challenges - digi day
Catch the Bug - anything goes
Craft Your Passion - anything goes.

All you have to do now then is leave me a comment and then complete the Blog Hop by popping over to the very talented Kathleen.

Tine :)

  9. Wow! I'm gonna have to get this stamp. I just adore it. It looks like you can use it for so many occasions.

Your coloring is awesome. I must study it in greater detail. I always suck some inspiration from you. DO you feel emptier after I've visited? Weaker? Less mojo? That's why. lol

So this is how you fit a mo's image on a shaped card! Ah! Great design.

    Wonderful work. :-)
