Buzzin' By To Say Hi!

I have used the lovely sketch currently over at Sketch & Stash for this summery birthday card for a young girl.  The cut-files are perhaps arguably less evident in this one - but my Cameo has indeed seen some use, most notably in the sentiment panels on the front but also to create my shining sun. I also used a digitised version of the image so that I could perform a print & cut with the Cameo for a precise cut around the image's hand. Silhouette users just might also spot that I added a lilac 'sewing line' via the Silhouette software to the floral paper.

Once all printed off, I coloured the image with Promarkers and added Anita's Clear 3-d Gloss to the 3 'brads' made from card & also to the centre of my radiant sunshine. Not used this gloss in ages but I hope it has given a nice extra element to the overall effect. I think my photography skills leave a lot to be desired as the yellow 'brad' is actually the same colour as the sun but the reflection off the glossy finish is making it more of an orangey-yellow than it is in real life - & yet the gloss on the sun isn't really showing at all!!!! LOL.  The image's mat, along with the 3 sentiment mats & 3 brads were all mounted using either foam pads/ glue gel or even both to give that bit of dimension.

The 'Bee happy' was cut but the rest of the inside's sentiment printed.

Of course, I decorated the inside of the card too using the same papers as those on the front & added yet another cut-work sentiment (Bee Happy pun) to the central panel so the background colour would peep through & I gave the top corner the same cut-work sun (again with a glossy centre) as on the front of the card to help unify the design.

First Anniversary Cascade Card

This one is something of a sequel.  Not sure if anyone remembers my Wedding Tryptic card & matching  box for the 'main event' last year but I have combined a couple of elements from the wedding card for my niece & hubby for the one now celebrating their first anniversary together. The main element of which is the lattice-work & bells which I have incorporated into another shaped card, this one being a 'cascade fold'.

To do this, I first created my own cut-file for a cascade card, combining a larger 'back-plate' to add extra interest not only to the front view in the form of the 'heart-arch' shape but also to give me extra room to add an image. (Any excuse to colour!!!)  To this I then added my own bells/lattice design into the front panels. I kept the colour-way used for the wedding (blue bridesmaids dresses) adding embossed mats for the larger 'cascades' though not for the smallest so that the fretwork design would show up better. I also added the couples initials into a central heart.

To the largest cascade elements, I also added floral embellishments & these multi-layered flowers are from 'Miss Kate Cuttables' (flowers with vine) & when I say multi-layers I mean loads of layers!!!! 3 for the leaves alone not to mention the flowers!!!! Like the rest of the card, the white on white flowers were cut from a combination of plain & different pearlescent card before being topped off with pearls & a few matching blue gems.
Lots & lots of layers for dual-side flowers.

On the reverse of the middle cascade I have added a sentiment to one side & the handwritten 'from' on the other.

The back-plate - again embellished with pearls - features a Precious Moments image coloured with Promarkers. Two more mirrored sets of floral bouquets (glued to the ones behind make then very sturdy), help frame the image too I think.

Hope you like it & thanks for visiting my blog!

CAS - On Father's Day

Yes, trying my hand at a CAS card again this week & this one is for my FIL. Being CAS, there really isn't too much to tell you about this one! LOL. Any cutting was done using my Cameo & this includes my paper-pieced chair & cushion. This basically means that the chair was a print & cut comprising of 3 layers & making the Cameo cut around the edges for me would give me a more accurate finish than me with my Fiskars' or a craft-knife I am sure. All colouring was done using Promarkers. The bunting was also print & cut with coordinating digi papers. The twine hopefully gives it a more masculine touch too.

Not sure you would even be entirely interested in the insert as I have kept this very, very simple with a sentiment is from Creative Cottage. Well, I couldn't do a fancy insert for a CAS card, could I? LOL.

Thanks for visiting.

Sitting Tilda

The card I am sharing with you all today uses a 'Bon Voyage' Tilda & I have her sat on a birthday card full of layers - most of which are distressed in some way. There is a LOT of texture on this one - from the Forever Friends embossing folder, paper-piercing, torn edges & distressed edges, not to mention that even the white card layer behind the pink cut-work layer is textured too. This might not show too well in the photo but it peeks through the cut-work nicely in RL. Tilda herself has been coloured using Promarkers & a couple of Tria pens but I have added a hint of colour to my card-stock with pink chalk (not used those chalks in ages!) as well as a pale blue ink pad.

Yes, this another of my cards brimming with cut-files created using my Silhouette Cameo and a number of the resulting layers are also given that touch of dimension courtesy of glue gel. I created all the cut-files other than the pink floral background immediately behind Tilda & this is a cut-down version of a design from 'Designs on Cloud 9'. The circular sentiment in the middle of my doily-like floral circles is from Sentiments4You.

I kept the inside of my card a lot less complex but still used some of my matching cut-files here too.

Hope you like it - & thanks for visiting my blog!

Twins are Two!

Where does all this time go to?   My Followers might recall my previous cards for my niece's twins but to think they are coming up to their second birthday in what seems like a blink of an eye is a bit frightening. New cards, yes, but I have used this image for a two-year-old before (can't really go wrong with the Ark & all those 'twos' can you! LOL).  This time around though I have a Cameo of course, so it's presence is felt in the design - allowing me to add the girls' names along the outside border.

The image is by Crissy Armstrong, isn't it fab? Coloured with my Promarkers, I did my usual trick of mirroring the image for one of the matching cards along with all the other elements to make it the same but different.  Once again, I coloured both at the same time to ensure uniformity.  I also paper-pieced the umbrellas with matching paper.

...and on the inside.
On the inside of the card I added the relevant name, courtesy of my Cameo, along the top, with coloured card behind to make it stand out.  The sentiment I created on the PC popping it into a circle & matted above the same papers as on the front of the card.  Think that more or less covers all the details.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

Thank You Angela

The image of an energetic young gal jumping for joy is by Mo Manning & I have chosen to use her for this card as she seems so happy & full of life. She has been coloured with Promarkers to match my papers and all the cut-work is done using my Silhouette Cameo using files I have created myself.

I did of course, decorate the inside of the card as well to coordinate with the front.  The image in this instance is lighter than the one on the front so that I can write over it before I give it to a friend. The short but to the point sentiment is from Digital Doodling.

I have even managed to keep this short & sweet too! Wonders will never cease! LOL.

Thanks for dropping by my blog & thanks too for your comments.

Damask Wedding - the box

Here as promised, is the box to match & co-ordinate with the damask cut-work card.  This time a lot more simplistic in design even though it matches and nice & deep of course, to accommodate the shaped card with flowers on the top.

Additional sentiments on the box's liner

I have used the same LOTV image "Wedding Couple", coloured with Promarkers as I had used on the tag inside my card but kept the layering nice & flat to make it easier to transport to this special event. (I haven't done a close-up photo of the image as I usually do as it is so similar to the one on the card's tag, even in a circular mat, that it is probably not necessary. However, if you missed the shaped card in my previous post & want to see it the link is here).  If I am creating a matching set like this I always colour the images at the same time - whatever I do to one, I do to the other to ensure they match as much as possible.  The cut-work was done using my Silhouette Cameo of course - an enlarged variation of the design for the top of the box to match that of all the various ones on the card itself.  I also used an individual element from my pattern along each of the sides of the box to allow the shimmering pearlescent gold card placed behind, to peek through. As I always do, I added a selection of suitable & meaningful sentiments to the box's liner.

The box - shown with  the card. so you can see how they coordinate.

CAS - lovely & flat!

Thanks for popping by my blog!

Damask Wedding

Not sure where to start with this one as it is quite a complex design - but suffice to say, it is all done using my favourite mediums of Silhouette Cameo & Promarker pens. Why damask? Well, I was working on this theme for a wedding card I needed (always pretty classy to my way of thinking), when I finally saw the actual invitation & as luck would have it, it was itself a damask design - black on white. Couldn't have planned that better! Decided to add touches of pearlescent gold to their colour-scheme too to prevent it all going a bit 'funereal'.

I had created myself a set of damask based cut-files a while back when I was 'playing' with my Cameo - a full set of variations on a theme which I tend to create when caught 'by the mood'. I layered two of these for the front and added rolled flowers to the centre-piece which, in this gorgeous pearlescent card, look for all the world like fine porcelain.

Tag front
The actual style of card I am not even sure has a name, but I have been calling it a 'pocket fold' which seems to sum it up to me. I wanted to include several pockets into the design as I needed to find a spot for a gift card & then I do like a good verse/sentiment to help convey what I want to say to the happy couple, not to mention in this case - needing a perfect spot for me to add an image. Much as I love to create cut-files I just have to colour too if I can! LOL.
Tag reverse

Layer upon layer on the inside of the card which folds/opens out with a central pocket panel and I had to adapt some of my damask cut-files so they fit into my chosen pocket shaping, not to mention the tag onto which I had added the LOTV image. Yes, a LOT of hard work & hours in this card! Personalised not only with the damask design but incorporating the happy couples' initials into a wedding 'ring'. The addition of pearls & black gems as finishing touches were bought from MeiFlower & the ribbon was from my stash.

Decorated the back too - with an area for me to add my made by/signature.
Will hopefully be back later with a matching box - (spondylosis, computer & Internet connection permitting), all of which have been persecuting me for weeks!

Thanks for visiting my blog and I would like to thank you for adding a comment as I appreciate the time it takes to do so.
